Supporting adults through anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I am Natalia Hassan, an integrative counsellor.
I am a fatherless daughter, and my early life was shaped by loss, complex family dynamics, and having to grow up very quickly. These experiences influenced how I understood emotional safety, attachment, and relationships — and later became a meaningful part of why I was drawn to therapeutic work.
I was born in Kazakhstan, raised in Russia, and moved to England, where I built a life with my husband from a different cultural background. Growing together within a multicultural relationship brought both growth and significant emotional adjustment. This journey has deepened my understanding of identity, belonging, and the quiet resilience it takes to begin again.
Languages: I speak English and Russian.
Like many people impacted by early experiences, I carried perfectionism, emotional suppression, and questions around relationships into adulthood. Growing up in a household affected by alcohol dependency also shaped my sensitivity to emotional patterns within families.
I also carried a great deal of shame and guilt for many years — emotions that can feel heavy, isolating, and difficult to put into words. Through my own therapeutic journey, I came to understand where these feelings came from and, more importantly, how they can be gently transformed.
Therapy helped me reconnect with myself, develop self-compassion, and find strength where there was once survival.
This personal transformation is central to how I work. It has made me deeply compassionate and a strong believer in the healing power of therapy.
I work integratively, meaning I use a range of therapeutic frameworks and techniques, tailoring sessions to your unique needs rather than following a single fixed approach.
Our work together is active and responsive. I adapt how we work based on what feels most helpful for you, ensuring therapy remains flexible, supportive, and relevant.
Understanding the whole person — mind, body, emotions, relationships and past experiences — and creating a safe, trusting space where change can happen naturally at your pace.
My experience working closely with neurodivergent children has shaped my understanding of how neurodivergence can influence adult relationships, family dynamics, and emotional wellbeing.
